The Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl and ESPN Events teamed up once again with AV Rental Depot (AVRD) and Multi Image Group (MIG) to host their annual head coaches press conference at the MIG/AVRD headquarters in Boca Raton, FL.
This is the second year in a row that AVRD has hosted the premier event. The 2017 press conference had an outstanding turnout, as well as VIP accommodations for all attendees.
Special guests at the 2017 ESPN head coaches press conference included the Mayor of Boca Raton, Susan Haynie, the University of Akron Zip’s head coach, Terry Bowden, and the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Owl’s head coach, Lane Kiffin.
Prior to kickoff on December 19th, the Bowl game’s Fan Festival featured live shows, games, and entertainment, including a performance by Lynn University President’s band, Wolfhawk.
The 2017 Boca Bowl was particularly special, as it was the first time since 2008 that the Owls competed in a college bowl game.
The FAU Owls were ruthless against the Zips for a 50-3 win. AVRD is FAU Athletic’s preferred AV Supplier to all Stadium events.
Also, the university utilizes AVRD’s expertise and guidance for AV support on FAU events and installations throughout the year.
Following the victory, Kiffin disclosed to ESPN,
“We expect to play this way, and we’re just getting started.”
Insider Interview with AV Pro and AVRD General Manager, James Cullen:
- Why was the AVRD/MIG headquarters an ideal location for hosting and producing the 2017 ESPN Boca Raton Bowl Head Coaches Live Broadcasting and VIP Press Reception?
AVRD is conveniently located within the City of Boca Raton. We are literally five minutes from the FAU campus. Multi Image Group studios has the flexibility and technical capabilities to broadcast any live studio event. Our full productions facilities and generous amenities allow for providing upwards of 100+ seated guests with world-class services.
- What made this year’s festivities extra memorable for guests who attended? Did anything surprise you, or make this event more challenging than the previous year?
This year’s event was quite the sound bite. A humorous broadcast where both team’s coaches had free reign, and elaborated on the creation of the Akron mascot, who happens to be named after a zipper – a boot zipper actually. Hence the Akron Zips’ team mascot is a kangaroo named “Zippy.”
- How does AVRD’s turnkey solutions help companies achieve their corporate communication goals and objectives?
Teamwork is a must. We value our ability to collaborate closely with clients and manage the creative, technical and logistical requirements of corporate events. Our experience and resources are second to none and unparalleled within the marketplace.
